Food for Tots

….and sometimes they stop screaming long enough for me to make a REAL breakfast. No cereal and yogurt for us today! I’m sure it will all be downhill from here (food everywhere, dishes, screaming, dirty diapers, etc) but at least we are off to a good start for once.

Vintage Frames

I could spend forever browsing through vintage eyeglasses frames. Seriously.  Now, I know that they’re not always entirely practical, but a girl can browse right? In the not so very near future, when I’m loaded, I can see myself with a nice collection! 🙂

Here are a few super cute samples I found listed in ETSY. Oh, how I ❤ ETSY.

I’m currently in the market to replace my current frames, which I unfortunately don’t love. Not to mention, I ruined the coating on them so now they’re not so perfect.

I’ve been oggling these guys for a while now. I even requested a quote from my eye doc yesterday!! I’ll keep you updated 🙂

How cute are these? LOVE the purple. Whatcha think?

Blue Inspiration

First Off, We are renting our house, so there are soooo few things that I can do as far as decorating goes. I’ve taken a few liberties that perhaps I shouldn’t have, such as putting up a few curtain rods and an Ikea rod organization system in the kitchen. Nothing a little putty can’t fix when we decide to move!

Anyhow, I’ve been brewing up some ideas for the kitchen mostly, with a few more for the rest of the house. Here find my inspiration!

I’m currently in the market for some lovely new knobs for my kitchen cabinets. I’ll share my finds as they present themselves!

Baby Shower Gifts

So this past weekend was the baby shower for my brother’s new baby! I would have gotten around to this post before I left, but I was too busy trying to finish these up!!

I found all patterns on Ravelry.com.  I even learned how to crochet for this blanket pattern because it is just so darn cute!!!

Here are the patterns. You need a ravelry account to view them.

I also packed them up in these badass little suitcases, which, I imagine, will double up as adorable storage in the baby’s room!

I think they liked them…I’ve only encountered a few people who don’t appreciate hand-made things. Hope they get lots of use!!!

MUST HAVE TINY TOMS!

Just felt the need to share a few things I’ve come across lately that made me excited to only have boys.  It always seems that all the cute stuff is made for the girls….and it usually is. It’s pretty rare to find cute boys stuff. So, you can imagine I get pretty excited when I do! I mean, how cute is that retro robot pattern? Anyhow, here’s a few things…

And just so everyone knows….I MUST HAVE THESE TINY TOMS!! They are so adorable.

Not so Lazy Sunday

I’m feeling very domestic (and a little sore) this morning. After taking Tyler to the skating rink for his birthday last night, I didn’t imagine I’d be doing a whole lot today. Well, since he left this morning to go backpacking, the kids and I had the place to ourselves. SO….we made the most of it.

First, I made up a double batch of Zucchini Chocolate Chip Muffins in an attempt to use up some of that giant bowl of shredded zucchini in my fridge. These now reside in my freezer and will feed us all week!

Then, WH and I did some basket painting while Helo napped. I’m always looking for activities to keep him quiet so he doesn’t wake up his brother. In this case, it also helped me get something done.

Once Helo was up we went on a walk. We picked up a movie and fresh kettle corn for movie night tonight, yarn for some new hats and corn dogs for lunch!

Back at the house, I actually managed to get BOTH monsters down for a nap and started on the first baby hat! I plan to make one for each of my monsters and another for my brother’s new guy. I spent most of their nap winding the hanks into balls (my least favorite part of knitting) but managed to at least get cast on.

Then it was time for movie night. WH had a couple friends over and we ordered pizza and all was nuts. And it was great. No one had any idea what happened in Tarsem’s “The Fall” because the kids were so loud, but we were able to mildly relax with some wine and none of the kids went home with any serious injuries so we’ll call it a success!

Oh! And I also got some clothes from a friend that ACTUALLY FIT ME! Score.
