Kaylee in all her Glory
And here she is…..
Finished the first disc of Firefly last night. I had always wanted to watch the whole series since I missed most of it on TV. It’s really awesome so far…the whole wild-west-esque space frontier and the ‘space cowboys’ who make their living pulling train heists and smuggling goods…well, it’s all so cleverly done! The blend of asian influence, wild-west culture and space travel make for a very interesting show.
Tyler and I really enjoyed the last episode on disc one (see picture) where Kaylee and the captain get all dolled up to attend a ball in order to meet a contact for a job. Kaylee shows up this hideously awesome pink ruffly dress, but it’s completely overshadowed by the look of complete awe and enchantment on her face. It was so adorable! And then she goes on the win over all the guys in the room with her limitless knowledge of all things that are metal and fly through space! Go Kaylee!
I just felt the need to express how much I miss Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles….and all its bad-ass-ness. Oh, all the fun leather and ass-kicking boots… and Summer Glau in all her cuteness. Sure, the second season got a little slow, but it had so much potential!
I really enjoy Summer Glau as an actress. I’ve recently added the Firefly series to my Netflix queue since I only got to watch a few episodes when it was on TV. I’m also excited to watch Serenity again. I’m also interested to see Dollhouse when it comes out on DVD (another series that recently got axed) just for the episodes with her and Tamoh Pinket (BSG Alum!). Oh how I desperately miss BSG as well…
I’ve also been searching for an awesome purple leather jacket like Cameron’s and some bad-ass boots to help myself cope with the show’s passing. So far the best I’ve found are these:
These also happen to be WAY out of my price range. And I haven’t had any luck with the jacket. : /
I’ll have to write a Farewell to Battlestar Galactica one of these days, but I just don’t think I’m emotionally prepared for that just yet. In the meantime, I’ll just have to hope that Firefly and Project Runway (Season Finale tomorrow night) can keep me distracted.
Farewell Cameron and Sarah and John and dude from 90210 that’s dating that Megan Fox chick. Good show lads, Good show.
Here I go again. I’m giving my fingerless gloves a second go. If they turn out really well, they may even become a Christmas gift! I do think they’ll be really warm, but I’ll admit I’m using cheap yarn. I guess I can’t use the pricey stuff for every project! Anyhow, this is my first go at cables, so far so good. Nothing to it really!
I love Wall-E.
Will Haven loves Wall-E more. Lots more.
Perhaps too much..
I haven’t quite decided how I want to approach this topic. I’ve avoided putting him in front of the TV for obvious reasons, but sometimes you just need 15 minutes to finish dinner or throw the laundry in the dryer. This is where the TV has come in handy a few times. No one’s perfect.
Well, now he yells for Wall-E (“Wah-ee”) in the car on the way anywhere, in the morning as soon as he gets up, as soon as we walk back into the house from where ever, etc. He’ll run to the couch, sit down and say “Wah-ee” Sure, it’s cute, but it’s gotten a little ridiculous here lately. He completely zones out when Wall-E is on. Completely.
My kid is turning into a couch potato! It’s too cold to just be outside all the time…and if we’re at home he wants Wall-E and fusses if he doesn’t get it. Nothing else is good enough…Oh Wall-E.
I’m working on a solution to this problem. In the meantime, we’re watching a lot of Wall-E.
Wasted enough time here. Off to make dinner.
I have the tendency to obsess over things I can’t afford. I imagine I’m not the only one…but I just can’t help it! Luckily, it’s almost Christmas and my mommy still likes to spoil me! Not to mention pretty things make for pretty blogs. I suppose you could call this a pseudo Christmas List. I’m such a girl 😛
